Who We Are
The Central New York Community Foundation has served the community for over 80 years by receiving, managing and distributing charitable funds to not-for-profit organizations in Onondaga and Madison counties. The Community Foundation has over $110 million in assets, and awards over $5 million in grants to not-for-profit organizations annually.

Our Mission
The Central New York Community Foundation, through the effective use of its endowment, enhances the quality of life for those who live and work within the community by:
  • Encouraging the growth of a permanent charitable endowment to meet the community's changing opportunities and needs;
  • Providing vehicles for donors with diverse philanthropic interests which make giving easy, personally satisfying and effective;
  • Serving as a catalyst, neutral convener and facilitator by stimulating and promoting collaborations among various organizations to accomplish common objectives;
  • Carrying out a strategic grantmaking program that is flexible, visionary and inclusive.
The Community Foundation consists of many component funds, including:

The Women’s Fund of Central New York with a mission to support, empower and recognize the advancement of women and girls in Central New York through a permanent endowment fund

The Future Fund of Central New York is a giving circle established to involve and empower emerging philanthropists to make the Central New York community a better place to live and work. Its membership is involved in building a charitable endowment and providing grants in program areas that change each year based on the vote of the membership.
