During difficult economic times, the development of sustainable business models, collaborations and strategic alliances are more important than ever for not-for-profit organizations. For that reason, we are pleased to announce the creation of a new Strategic Partnership Fund at the Community Foundation to support local nonprofits as they formally expand their own alliances with others in the sector. At its meeting in March, our Board of Directors authorized up to $250,000 in support of strategic partnership grants.
Many organizations are wrestling with increased expenses, increased needs and actual or threatened reductions to revenue. To address these ongoing concerns, while also framing the challenges in a more positive manner, some not-for-profits are considering the mutual benefits of potential partnerships. If your organization is considering administrative consolidation, joint programming, regionalization, forming a subsidiary, or engaging in a full-scale merger with another organization, our new Strategic Partnership Fund may be able help. Grants of up to $25,000 will be made available for nonrecurring costs for implementing these and other partnership strategies that expand and enhance program capacities while creating new and more efficient operational structures.
