Literacy Initiative is a multi-year grantmaking initiative and public information campaign to address the issue of literacy from early childhood to adulthood. It has culminated in the founding of the Literacy Coalition of Onondaga County (LCOC). Through grants and the work of the Coalition, we endeavor to strengthen literacy service providers and their programs. Volunteers, donors and those needing literacy services are all targeted through the initiative.
There are no current requests for proposals under the literacy initiative, but your literacy program may qualify for funding through our
community grants program. Additionally, the LCOC is seeking additional partners as it strives to reach the goal of 100% Literacy through 100% Community Engagement.
Please visit the
Literacy Coalition's website for more details about current community activities. Questions about the literacy initiative should be directed to Frank Ridzi at 422-9538 or
by email.
