‘Meeting the Foundations’ a Great Success!

Last Updated May 2010

In the spirit of practicing what we preach, the Community Foundation partnered with its grantmaking colleagues—the Gifford, Allyn and Gorman foundations— to offer opportunities for the nonprofit community to learn more about each of our application processes and priorities. Five public “Meet the Foundations” sessions were held at locations in Onondaga and Madison Counties, drawing nearly 300 nonprofit representatives.

Through panel discussions and breakout sessions, prospective applicants and grantees were given the opportunity to learn more about each of the foundations, acquire a better understanding of each one’s strategic approach to grantmaking and engage in a dialogue with the grantors and fellow nonprofit agencies. Given each foundation’s emphasis on collaboration, it was also an opportunity to demonstrate to our nonprofit partners how we also work together to accomplish similar goals.

Another round of “Meet the Foundations” will take place this year. If you would like to be added to our email list, please send an email to community@cnycf.org. Also, remember to keep checking our website for updates on future informational
