Winner of WCNY’s Mind Your Own Business Offers Humane Goose Control Alternatives
WCNY’s Mind Your Own Business, an innovative project funded in part by the Community Foundation, aired the first of its ten shows on Sunday, January 28, 2007. The show is structured as a business competition. Each of the first nine episodes began with profiles of three young companies in Central New York, all more than two years old but less than five, with annual revenue of less than $1 million.
Three judges, all area business professionals, interviewed the owners about their business plans and potential for expansion, then chose one of the three to compete in the show’s finale on April 1st. Of the nine finalists, Take Flight Goose Management was judged to have the winning combination of proven capabilities and visionary entrepreneurship the panel was looking for.
Owners Mary Ann Kras and Heather Millen plan to use the award to expand their business regionally and hire a management consultant to help “take them to the next level.”
