Smart Giving has Impact for Mike & Elaine Crough
In 1999, Mike and Elaine Crough of Baldwinsville were inspired by a close relative to establish a personalized, one-of-a-kind fund at the Community Foundation to support professional development experiences for front-line human service workers. These dedicated professionals work hard, and budget constraints leave very little opportunity for training. To date, mini-grants from their Staff Development Fund have helped nearly 200 people increase their knowledge and skills through attendance at workshops, seminars and conventions at home and elsewhere – now that’s impact!
The Community Foundation and its staff were able to professionalize the implementation of their plan and successfully carry it forward – we take care of the administration, and human service workers reap the benefits.
The Croughs are able to give back to our community in a way that has the most meaning for them, thanks to the Community Foundation.
